For fourteen years, Central Traffic Division, (CTD) adopted
the Los Angeles Childrens Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit and has actively participated in raising funds for
this invaluable program. Central Traffic Division takes great pride in contributing to the Childrens Hospital which not
only benefits the child in need of a transplant, but the child's immediate family as well.
Twelve years ago, CTD expanded this charity program to include a car show, "Cops for Tots," which is presented in October
this year. The show has resulted in a very successful day of family fun for a good cause. This year, the twelfth annual CTD
"Cops for Tots" Car show will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2007, between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM at the Los Angeles
Police Academy (show opens at 7 AM). The first 500 pre-registered cars will have guaranteed spots. We ask that participants
that would like to park together please arrive together.
All cars must be in place by 9:00 am to be judged by a panel of pre-selected experienced judges, over 75 trophies will be
awarded!!
We will have displays from Special Weapons and Tactics Unit, Recruitment Section, Los Angeles Police Historical Society
and other entities within the Department. Last year over 500 cars and trucks were in attendance, and $50,000 was raised.
We have raised over $200,000 during the past thirteen years. All proceeds go to benefit children's charities, including
the Los Angeles Children's Hospital BMT Unit.
Central Traffic Division would appreciate your participation in this charitable event in any way possible. If you need
additional information, please contact CTD Car Show Committee members, Officers Abe Rangel and Brenan Booth at
(213) 236-9254 or (213) 972-1867. Thank you in advance for your support of our efforts to assist the children in the
BMT Unit.
